'Tis the pagan time of year again,
and the Pantsmas Trees are lit.
In honor of nutty Tony da Turd, wear pants of tightest fit!
okay, i posted this in a thread that got locked and buried.
since then i've been really busy and have overdosed on christmas music in the past week.
so, i'm resurrecting this "holy day" holiday that most people will unknowingly be celebrating tomorrow.
'Tis the pagan time of year again,
and the Pantsmas Trees are lit.
In honor of nutty Tony da Turd, wear pants of tightest fit!
contains a list of 9 practical steps except they forgot one: 10. do not become a jehovah's witness.. .
1. follow the treatment prescribed.
by qualified mental-health.
This is classic WT double-speak. To an outsider this all seems reasonable. But to an insider the points listed really mean:
1. Follow the treatment prescribed by qualified mental-health professionals.
Take the pills the doctor gives you to numb the pain of living in this system.
2. Maintain a balanced and stable daily routine.
Read the text and WT litteratrash daily. Keep a tight leash on your mind and your family.
3. Stay physically active.
...by going out preaching.
4. Get enough sleep.
About 4 hours will be enough since you have to work crappy low-paying jobs and spend hours slaving for a cult.
5. Take time each day to relax.
Sitting on a chair in the KH is all the relaxation you need.
6. Eat a nutritious and balanced diet.
Bread and water is a balanced meal according to scripture.
7. Limit alcohol consumption and drugs that are not prescribed for you.
If asked, say you drink in moderation. However much liquor it takes to wash down your pills is your own little secret.
8. Avoid isolation; spend time with people whom you trust and who care for you.
Only spend time with other JWs in good standing. KH meetings are all the socializing you need.
9. Give attention to your spiritual needs.
Stay completely connected to the bOrg.
so many witnesses lost the opportunity to pursue higher education in their youths.
perhaps it took decades for many here to leave and now feel it is too late.
degree you will also earn multiple certifications from other agencies:.
Finished my BS earlier this year. After an anxious few months, I finally found a great job and am so very glad that I decided that it wasn't too late to pursue higher "worldly" education.
i wonder how many jws are sexually frustrated due to the repressive views of the org?.
im sure that there are millions of messed up witnesses who have been severely damaged due to the teachings and guilt that the org places on all members.. now, i'm not encouraging a reckless lifestyle, but i'm sure so many more problems are experienced by witnesses just because of the suppressed and guilt laden attitudes the org has perpetuated!
they can even be open in their marriages!.
All the talk of tight pants and gays isn't going to reduce frustration and mental conflict.
it sucked!!.
so what's going on in the borg!?
what have you missed??
"They don't want to change their religious beliefs that contain the published ideas of men because of emotional reasons. .... Any religious ideas that are published by men should be rejected."
That puts us ahead of the game. The rubbish published by the WT men is rejected here daily.
a letter has just been read out indicating that effective immediately, witnesses are no longer to use the s-8 slip known as the "house to house" record slip, as well as the s-43 "please follow up" slip (usually used for foreign language people).. the letter stated that this is because of the changes in privacy laws etc that are becoming common in the world today.. i will try and get a copy of the full letter and post it asap.. .
They used to urge the publishers to track not-at-homes and note things like statues in the yard indicating their religion, IF THERE WERE TOYS INDICATING CHILDREN, and such things that publishers could use in conversational love-bombing/fear-mongering. Yeah, with the WT's pedo legal problems, the last thing they need is have the court find out that these criminals have been roaming the neighborhoods noting where children live, when the families are home, etc. on official WT forms.
all you who partake of heathen and pagan and nationalistic celebrations in the usa-.
whose pants are tight now that you ate all that food for thanksgiving?.
.
Even my sweatpants are tight!
now i know they have always discouraged marrying outside of their so called 'truth' but since when has it been a punishable offense?
my sister recently married and they are discussing wether her being married to an outsider will stumble others and if they need to reprove or disfellowship her for it..
"My sister recently married and they are discussing wether her being married to an outsider will stumble others and if they need to reprove or disfellowship her for it."
The question becomes: Who will be getting stumbled? If the congregation punishes her, how will every "outsider" who hears about the situation feel? If they're looking to completely alienate the husband and his family, and any of her non-JW family, go ahead and go JC crazy! That will drive more people away from the bOrg! That happened with more than one of the kids I grew up with. They left and never looked back.
Or if they think they're going to make an example of her by punishing her in front of all the children in the congregation, is that really going to work? They've been DFing people like crazy for decades and they are still losing about 2/3 of their kids. (Higher in my congregation.)
so i was riding along with an uber dub.
the conversation veered to mentioning how one elder gave a very encouraging comment (he is the of loving type).
the issue was no one remembered exactly what the comment was, so i said "i know it was during the book study, i mean the congregation bible study.
"Bible Study"
No "study" is involved, and the material is from a book about another book.
Imagine spending time every week doing a paragraph by paragraph rehash of a book about a different book.
"The conversation veered to mentioning how one elder gave a very encouraging comment (he is the of loving type). The issue was no one remembered exactly what the comment was"
The rehash of a book about another book is then followed by a conversation about a comment someone made during the rehash of a book about another book... and nobody remembers what the comment was, but they agree it was a good one.
I find this hilarous... because it's so true of JWs, and so sad.
Were they all sipping Jesus Juice during the study?
had a coversation with a very close friend (of 15 years) and understands how i feel about the wt org.
he himself is a serious doubter.
i on the other hand am not a doubter, i know with every living ounce of myself that this is a cult!
There is probably a large percentage of dubs who have lots of doubts, but just keep going like everything is okay.
I'm glad to not be living that kind of life anymore.
